A service of remembrance was held at St Paul's Cathedral, attended by 2,000 people, including relatives of the victims, the Prime Minister and the Prince of Wales. The service coincided with a minute's silence observed in stations, seven airports, schools and factories at 1.46pm Ð 8.46am in New York Ð the time that the first hijacked aircraft struck the north tower. The London Stock Exchange, television stations and the TUC conference in Blackpool also fell silent. Keighley Vocal Union, from West Yorkshire, represented England in the Rolling Requiem.

Cork, Ireland
Fleischmann Choir of the Cork School of Music
Curtis Auditorium of the Cork School of Music, Union Quay, Cork, by 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday 11 September 2003. The Cork School of Music's Fleischmann Choir performed, accompanied by members of the School's Symphony Orchestra. The soloists were members of the staff of the Cork School of Music. Choristers from other choirs in the region also joined in.

Our concert will be performedby the Portuguese "Northern Symphonic Orchestra" and the "Choir of the Lapa Catholic Church", from Oporto city, and four singers from Portugal, Romania, and France, under the direction of Maestro José F. Lobo. September 11th, at 8,46am, the Mozart Requiem at the Cathedral of Jerónimos, in Lisbon.
