Combined Choirs, "An Evening of Remembrance"
An Evening of Remembrance, an ecumenical service and concert, was held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. A choir of more than 100 voices from The Cathedral Choir of Men, Women and Boys, Grace United Methodist Church Choir, First Christian Church Choir, Second Presbyterian Church Choir, and the former Baltimore Symphony Chorus, performed A Requiem by Gabriel Fauré with chamber orchestra conducted by Edward Polochick. Faith Okkema, soprano, and Randal Woodfield, baritone will be the soloists. The service also included hymns, scripture readings, prayers and reflections. The inspiration for this service is found in the words of Leonard Bernstein, - This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devoutly than ever before.

Salisbury University Choirs
The Great Hall of Holloway Hall, Salisbury University, 1101 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801. Beginning at 8:30 am. Part of the larger campus-wide commemoration of the 9/11 attacks which included opening cermonies with local clergy and dignitaries, a meditative labryinth, a moderated discussion between SU faculty and the community, and a candlelight vigil. SU music department faculty participating in the Mozart event include Patrick K. Freer, Director of Choral Activities; Susan Zimmer, piano; and Robert Tudor, baritone.
