I couldn't let today pass without extending heartful thanks to all of you
folks in Seattle who had this wonderful idea and worked so hard to make it
happen.
I was fortunate enough to join with the orchestra and choruses of Ithaca
College, as well as number of musicians from the community in this morning's
performance of Mozart's "Requiem." It was such a poignant expression of
love, grief, hope, and community. We are so blessed to have such beautiful
music in our lives, expecially at these times.
Thank you again. May God bless you all.
Sincerely,
Steven Shumway

Today I had the rare privilege of being the tenor soloist in TWO performances of the Mozart Requiem, both affiliated with the Rolling Requiem project. The first was this morning at 8:46AM in Rochester NY where a massed choir of 350 singers defied the early hour and sang masterfully. The second was at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam where I serve as Asst. Prof. of Voice. There I had the great treat of standing next to my student Nicole Roussie who was the mezzo soloist. All in all it was a memorable day, made all the more special by the bond shared by people around the globe. Thanks to the organizers for all that you have done to make this world-wide memorial work! - Carl Johengen

Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to all of you for the tremendous amount of time and effort you put forth in organizing this magnificent, historic event. We felt so privileged to be a part of it. In Rochester, NY, at 8:46 a.m. today, over three hundred singers raised their voice in song, singing to a full house (seating capacity/ 900). The sound was awesome. It was a very thrilling and moving experience for singers and audience alike. Initially, the weather this morning was very rainy and windy, but as we began the final chorus, singing "lux aeterna...:" the sun came out and the concert hall was bathed in light! - Elise Rosenfeld
I was in the audience at Hochstein in Rochester for Mozart's Requiem on 9/11 - what a glorious moment in time! I think the angels were singing with that large and wonderful choir; I know I'll certainly never forget the experience. Thanks to all involved - thanks so much! - Elaine M. Batterby
